International Student Design Competition

Since 1994 ICCC has invited students of architecture, interior design, planning and technology to imagine an integrated society for all ages. Winning projects have been exhibited at United Nations Headquarters and in cities around the world.

About the competition

The competition asks a new generation of designers to respond to the “Agequake” — the unprecedented growth of older populations worldwide — through architecture, interior design, information and communication technology, and urban planning.

Projects have explored intergenerational housing, rehabilitation environments, digital opportunity for older persons, caring communities and cities that work for every generation. Winning and finalist projects were exhibited at United Nations Headquarters, at EDIFICA in Santiago, Chile and in Budapest, Hungary, among other venues.

Competition winners are eligible to become Agequake Student Designers Fellows — applying their expertise in their home countries through a three- or six-month fellowship.
